Kerry has over 30 years experience working in Health and Social Care as well as local Policing.

Kerry began her career in residential childcare in 1990 as a Relief Residential Worker, gaining a permanent contract within the first year and moving up to Assistant Manager, Registered Manager, Principal Officer, and Service Manager.

Kerry qualified as a Social Worker in 1999 and worked in a generic social work team within children’s services, in between working in residential. Kerry ended her role as Service Manager Residential and Resources in 2020, having spent the previous 10 years working for Gwent Police on a secondment,  establishing and managing the Gwent Missing Children Multi Agency service. Following extensive research into missing children within Gwent, Kerry recognised the need for an effective safeguarding operating model to be introduced, she set up the Gwent Missing Children’s Hub, under the banner Breaking the Cycle. Kerry moulded the service around improving outcomes for vulnerable children who go missing, and those at risk of child exploitation, trafficking and modern day slavery, with the multi'-agency hub being the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. In 2020 Kerry was awarded an MBE for services to the protection of vulnerable children.

Kerry’s career has afforded her a wealth of experience and training in Residential Child Care, Child Exploitation, Human Trafficking, Modern Day Slavery, Missing, Safeguarding, ACES and Complex Families. Within Residential Care she has always achieved good and excellent ratings.

Kerry is confident in working with multi agencies, which she believes is imperative in achieving the best outcomes for our children.

Kerry has sat on many boards, panels and national (Wales) working groups.

Following leaving the Police secondment, Kerry took Voluntary redundancy, she returned to work within the residential child-care sector for Bristol City Council on an interim basis.

Kerry has a sound understanding of care Standards in both Wales and England and is committed to striving for excellence. 

Kerry is happily married, she has 3 grown up children and 4 grandchildren.

Kerry spends her time off gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys watching Rugby and Swimming. Kerry loves travelling and likes to spend time exploring different countries.

Registered Manager - Alexis Redwood PG Cert IPCY (Open), BA (Hons) ChYthStud (Open)

Alexis is a passionate and experienced practitioner with over 18 years proven experience of working with agencies to improve outcomes for children. She holds a Post Graduate and Honours Degree in Integrated Practice with Children & Young People and Childhood & Youth Studies, as well as extensive localised qualifications and practise in Safeguarding, Child Abuse, Child Exploitation & Trafficking, Behaviour Management and Therapeutic Care. Alexis also holds a QCF Level 5 in Leadership & Management Health & Social Care (CYP).

Alexis has expertise in the evaluation, risk management and escalation of significant cases, and is well-rehearsed in the practice of de-briefing professionals and learning from previous practice to inform future decisions, ensuring that processes are robust. In addition she has over 4 years of experience in a senior leadership role within a multi-agency team, delivering high-quality services to children, young people and their families, as well as supporting other professionals.

Alexis has proven experience of improving practical working arrangements and multi-agency partnership working, as well as involvement in supporting local government and policing with during inspections with ESTYN, HMIC and CIW (OFSTED equivalent). In previous roles she has designed and delivered interventions of support and protection for victims and their families, alongside implementing preventative programmes to tackle underlying threats of modern-day-slavery and child abuse.

Alexis is passionate about advocating the rights and voices of children, investing in them her own knowledge and skill to equip them to be successful and fulfilled in their lives, overcoming barriers to their learning and independence. She strives to overcome challenges that she is faced with, demonstrating determination to succeed and an appetite for learning and personal development, for her team and the children that they care and support.

Alexis lives with her partner, three children and their German Sheppard, during her time off she enjoys gardening, spending time with her family and friends, and home improvement.

Lisa Howie - Co-Ordinations Manager

Lisa has worked in health and social care for over 25 years. Prior to this she was based with Placement Support Team, IFST Team, Short and long term Children’s Residential homes and Managed the Crisis Intervention Team for local authority.

Lisa’s background is working with children and young people to prevent placement breakdown and he has a wealth of experience of dealing with Adverse Childhood Experiences, Challenging Behaviour and supporting children’s social, emotional and mental health needs.

Lisa loves to spend time with her children and grand children, as well as holidaying with her family and friends.

Ian Jones - Registered Manager

Ian has worked within the care sector for over 20 years, mainly for Newport Social Services.

Ian has obtained his NVQ Level 3 in childcare, and is qualified at level 5 QCF Diploma in Management and Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) Wales.

Ian enjoys the challenge of working within childcare and creating positive futures for young people.

He has attended numerous training courses over the years which has enhanced his skills and practice.

 Ian started working at Hanbury care in July 2023.

Outside work his interests include rugby where he played at a High level, professional for many years for Newport and Pontypool RFC. Ian has also played and represented Wales at three different levels - schools, youth, and senior 7s.

 Sadly, at his age he is now confined to watching the game on TV, and focuses his interest on the gentler sport of Golf. Ian also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes, picer the better! With his love of cooking this pushes him to keep attending the gym, to prevent him from having to buy bigger trousers !!
